I ask this because every question I ask that shows the inadequacy and downright incompetence of this administration results in accusations of Terrorism, being called a foreigner, accused of having a direct line to Osama B L, called a Bush Hater, anti-American and worse.

This is not a partisan question, but all the insults seem to come from Conservative supporters. I just need an answer.

Can't someone be a proud American but still point out the error of our ways?

Yes they can, but it's not going to be a conservative, religious right Republican. They are all paranoid. They are all afraid of their own shadow. I think the scareist thing anyone can dress up as this Halloween and go into a Republican neighborhood is a Muslim and say BOO. That will scare the living daylights out of any Republican.

Not according to conserviatives. It's their way or you are an anti american scum and should go live somewhere else. Right wing conservatives, those that are far right cannot think. Thinking is scary because it calls their ideas into question, and then they don't know what to do. They have no reasonable basis for their arguements, so all they can do is rant. Anyone who cannot see the weakness and idiocy of this current administrations' policies must have an IQ less than 60 and that is how stupid people argue. Nothing can be done, lets just hope for the future.

I am a proud American and a supporter of President Bush. You might want to take a look at how you ask a question if all of the answers from Republicans or Conservatives are insulting. The same could be said for Liberals or Democrats answering the question of a Republican. We all bring our personal biases to this forum, you are sharing your opinion, be willing to listen to those of others. Because we differ doesn't mean we are paranoid.

There is a material difference between national security and concerns for same, and PARANOIA.

We were attacked, on 2/23, 9/11, 7/7, on and on and on. Attacked by radical, suicidal, homicidal terrorists who spent YEARS inside our borders, scheming, plotting, practicing and executed a devastating terror attack on 3 targets in almost simultaneous precision and were thwarted from hitting a 4th target only when Americans refused to let these terrorists, murderers, true INFIDELS kill any more of their fellow Americans.

If you are proud to be American, you MUST STAND for America. Our interests are not limited to our borders. The computer you use to post your question, the car you use to get to work, the plastic cups, toys, tools you use or buy everyday, the heating of your home, the firing of our power plants, ALL THIS RELIES ON FOREIGN ENERGY!

To miss this point, you miss the whole economic equation that balances the USA. If you are proud of your nation, you must move not just to point out the error of our ways, but to provide SOLUTIONS, an exercise which Conservatives have been more demonstrably able to do, in comparison to their associates on the other side of the aisle.

What is Pelosi's take on energy policy? What is Murtha's take on secure fuel sources? What is Kerry's plan to secure Iraq and deter Iran from hegemonic control of energy sources in the Middle East? What is Durban's plan to neutralize the nuclear threat of North Korea? What is the Liberal plan to secure America against a non-aligned terrorist enemy who wears no uniform, abides by no international law, swears no allegiance to any nation and is funded and trained in secrecy within our own borders. These are facts, not pretty, but true, not easy to handle, but not paranoia.

When the 'anti-conservative' comes up with a solid plan to defend our borders and to secure and ensure America's way of life for future Americans, then perhaps they can be taken seriously. To date, the 'anti-conservative' policy of laissez-faire has gotten Americans killed.

We should defend all human rights, but as an American, I prefer that MY human rights are defended first, thank you very much. And whoever is best able to do that gets my support and whoever undermines our ability to do that will get called on the carpet for being treasonous. We can't worry about world opinion or international law when we are at war with a faceless enemy. We have never been challenged like this, and we should spend LESS time trying to turn back the clock to 9/10 and more time trying to exert our best interests and defend ourselves against a vocal and ultra-determined terrorist threat. Anything short is simply unAmerican.

Notice how you group the government as 'our'?
According the Chavez, Bush is the 'Devil'. You mean to say, you want to be categorized as part of the Devil?
What ever decision the U.S. government mete out, I will not feed into the propaganda of 'we', 'our' or 'us'. Whether Republican, Democratic, Liberal, so forth and so on....Yes! Too much power to control, does cause paranoia. This is when the government (any) begins to fall apart....etc...

Excellent question and excellent points!

I do think paranoia does run rampant with the Republicans. They are quite insecure when dealing with opposing views.

Yes. The error of your way is that you worry too much about being nice to terrorists.
But you didn't mention the be-headings of Americans by terrorists.
