Over the years the Hulk and Thing have fought allot. The thing is that it depends on what versions of the Thing and Hulk are fighting. For instance when the Hulk was going by the name Mr. Fixit in Las Vegas and was the Grey Hulk he was not nearly as strong as the Green Hulk and during that time period The Thing would have a much better chance to win the fights. Now assuming that you are talking about the Green Savage Hulk well the answer is the Savage Hulk would win.

I think it'd be a conditional fight.

Ben could probably win in an area where he was away from any innocents or possible property damage. Having the FF as back-up (but not actively fighting) would also give him an edge.

The Hulk, on the other hand, would more than likely win in any other circumstance. He's a pissed off ball of super-strong rage. I know I wouldn't want to cross that (which is why I'm reading the upcoming World War Hulk story). Ben would be more concerned with saving innocents and ending the fight, while the Hulk just would want to beat the hell out of something, and Ben would get whooped.

The Hulk would win hands down. the reason being, the hulk has what Stan Lee calls a sort of berserker rage and when he gets to that point his strenght is limitless. The Hulk is already in the 100 ton wt. class and there are only a few and i do mean a few that are in the 100 ton wt. class. what i mean by wt. class is how much a marvel hero or villian can lift/press. So far, the Beyonder, Thor and Hulk's archenemy The Abomination are the only 100 ton class characters.

this battle had already occured.. if you have watched that episode in marvel action hour where the fantastic four met the hulk.. the hulk was trashing the city when the thing try to stop him.. they have fought for a while throwing things at each other, like tree and cars.. after a while the hulk is just too much for ben to handle.. the thing was trashed.. thanks to invisible girl's force field that covered the thing.. if it wasn't for it, the thing could have been poulvorized.. ben grim then thank the invisible girl while the hulk is still trying to penatrate the force field by pounding on it..
human torch could have not believed what he had just saw.. he said: i thought the thing was the toughest of the superheroes..
so that's it.. hulk prevailed

Um... The Thing is a better grappler/fighter than The Hulk, but Hulk is tougher and stronger. You know, "The madder Hulk gets, ..." blah blah blah.... I would give this fight to The Hulk...

Hey, does anyone remember when She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel II (the female version of Thing) fought, and it played out like one of the old Hulk/Thing fights? That was some good times right there....

In the Marvel Hand book Things strength is Monstorous (75) Hulks starts at Unearthly (100) but can go up to Shift Z (500) plus Hulk can leap miles at a time and heals quickly!

Ben Grimm (The Thing) would win because he has superhuman strength. He is also the strongest being in the world, and cannot change back to human form. Whereas, the Hulk gets his superhuman strength through anger and rage, and when he calms, he transforms back to Dr. Bruce Banner.

The Hulk is way stronger but The Thing is smarter. They have tussled several times. The Hulk HATES The Thing, he calls him "the rock man".

If they went to the death I would bet on the Hulk, but i don't think the Fan4 would allow Ben to die.

Man, this fight would go on for a while. Although they are both powerhouses, I think Hulk would take the win. Don't get me wrong, I think The Thing would put up one heck of a fight, that is until he does the wrong thing and Hulk starts pounding him into gravel.
