You had better get it checked. It may be nothing like a boil or pimple, but it could be something else. Get it checked asap.
Your breast exam should catch a swollen lymph in your pit. Don't worry...you are doing it right.

It could be. Or a wart, or some sort of a fungal infection underneath your skin...How big exactly, and how does it feel underneath your finger? Is it bony feeling or fleshy? Your breast tissues extends to the crevice of your arm pit. Check to see if you see a head on it, like any other pimple. Give it a couple days to see if it changes.
If there is a history of reproductive cancers in your family, go see your doctor! If you do not, are relatively young (under 40), and have had normal PAP smears, you still might want to get it checked out.
Hope it really is just a pimple!

It sounds like you're doing your breast exam correctly; including the armpit area. It may be a lymph node, but this is not something to wait on. It would be very wise to visit your doctor as so many before me have suggested.

A "big bump on your arm pit" needs to be checked out by a doctor!!! Please make an appointment to see your doctor. It may be nothing, but be glad you are checking yourself monthly and you noticed this. Keep up the monthly self exams and when you find something like this, then get to a doctor.
Good Luck!!!

You need to have this checked out immediately. It sounds like a swollen lymph node. Lymph nodes swell for a million reasons: you have a cold, you have a sore throat, your teeth are hurting, and cancer.
If you saw the movie "Terms of Endearment" the cancer was first diagnosed by a lump on the arm pit.

Yes, sometimes the sweat glands under your arms can get blocked or infected. I'm sure its scary, but its probably no big deal. Keep the area really clean and don't wear anything that is constricting. If it doesn't go away within a week, talk to a doctor.
