I watched that speech today and it appeared to me that, while it was extreme, the man 'felt' what he was saying... he appeared fed up with USA dominance, aggression and arrogance.
I guess he just decided to speak his mind, ya know.
From the reaction in the audience with ppl shaking their heads in agreement and quite few applauds, I think he had the courage to say out loud what a lot of them are thinking.

The guys a jerk. He must be a conservative Republican trying to get the sympathy vote for the Republican party in the upcoming elections. Everyone knows that the more they say bad things about George W. bush the more votes the Republican party gets from all the Americans who are afraid of their own shadows. It's only a matter of time before Osama says or does something just before the election to scare the voters into voting for George W. Bush's party to save them from the big meanies of the world.

Chavez is a fat little dictator with a big mouth. I do resent him coming to this country and running it, but our stupid media was practically slobbering all over themselves to interview him. President Bush is called worse in this forum as well as by democrats, and our own media, why should we be shocked when some little waste of skin calls him "devil". If Chavez liked President Bush we would have something to worry about.

For those of you praising "the man who said what he felt", I would ask you to go to the man's poverty-stricken country and try to stand up before his national assembly and call him the devil.
It'd be the last we'd ever see of you.
Hugo Chavez is a delusional self-promoting tyrant. The fact that some on the left would speak of him in reverential tones says more about them and their need to denigrate America than anything else.
Come on lefties, you can do better than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez. Who's next on your list of "men" you revere, Kim Jung Il?

He is still mad because the U.S. tried to remove him with a coup for selling oil to cheap and driving down profits but "the people" took to the streets and got him back. He also uses oil money to cut poverty in half in his country that would be devastating to the oil companies profits if the U.S. wanted to cut poverty in half using God`s oil. Hugo hangs out with dictators but he was elected by his people.

Th real threat is right in our own home. The American Empire is doing all it can to consolidate its system of domination.. We cannot allow a world dictotorship to be consolidated.
The Devil is right at home. The Devil, The Devil himself, is right in the house.
Viva Chavez!
He is the best world leader alive today.
