Your weight can vary by 2 or 3 pounds during the course of a day. So if you are trying to lose weight it is best to check your weight once a week at the same time every week having eaten or drank the same amount each time.. As for weighing less in the morning I think that has been answered

I didn't know there was anyone on the planet that didn't know this. Uhhhh.....possibly because you've not eaten or drank anything for 8-9 hours. You would weigh less also at night if you didn't eat or drink anything for 8-9 hours prior to going to bed.

Incidentally here is an old myth that needs dispelling. It makes NO DIFFERENCE what time of day you eat. Meaning, if you eat right before going to bed you will weigh the same in six months as if you stop eating six hours prior to going to bed (assuming you eat the same number of calories under each scenerio.) Don't believe the old disproven wives' tale that eating right before bed is bad for your weight. It isn't.

because you don't eat for 8 to 9 hours or how ever long you sleep, your stomach is empty so you weigh less, the you eat and hey ur weight is back.

As a result of respiration we breathe out water vapour. We also lose water through sweating. When you take into account you're not put any liquid back in through the night, that is why.

I know people are saying that its because you haven't eaten for so long but surely it is still in your body? I guess sweat helps - we sweat like half a pint a night or something? Or half a pint a month? I don't know. I always thought it was gravity, but I guess that's kind of stupid...

Because you haven't consumed anything during the night and you're body has digested what was there from the day before.
