Because some people are so "needy" and they rely so much on others for emotional support that they feel they aren't right alone. They have to be with someone else, even if it's not a boyfriend or girlfriend. That's not a healthy feeling, but that's how some people are. I'm working on that myself. I was an only child (not anymore), and I learned to be very attached to people. I don't even feel comfortable going in the store alone; in fact, sometimes I feel scared. Plus I'm very touchy-feely and affectionate (not with everyone, though). So, some people have to work on being with themselves first, without needing so much from others.

Human beings that are not secure with themselves need someone to "crutch" on. They are not strong enough to be independent and therefore they are missing out on that great side of life that can be enjoyed. Low self-esteem makes them shy and when they can have someone to cling to then they feel they are complete. I am married and the happiest I have ever been but I was complete even when I was single and living it up with my friends, career and family. Be unique

good question. I think we are simply conditioned to think that way.
I was very happy when i was single...probably as happy as one can be...but I have to say now that I'm married I feel completely diffrent. My happiness is now shared by a contentment I never knew existed.
YET, if I would have never gotten married I think my life would have been filled with love and happiness simply because that is how I choose to live.

Because people are retarded. I am single and i don't need somebody. Hell, I am enjoying my singleness! I don't have to answer to anyone and i can do what i want. I am happy as hell! You don't need someone else to be whole. If you think that then you aren't happy and need someone, then you are just a half and that could be bad for a relationship. You have to be happy with you before you can be happy (truely) with someone in a relationship.

bcause nothing is as wonderful as going thru life's good&bad times with the person you have built your world around.doesnt matter what happens in life,day to day or whatever..when the two of you r together it doesnt exist and cant hurt you bcause your with the one u love and trust....in your world.created by the two of you.thats what makes life pretty cool...knowing that this can exist & can happen at any time ...this alone makes life worth living.

Another person in ones life gives them purpose and a life to be lived. They don't feel so alone anymore and they feel that they are worth something because someone loves them. They just haven't learned to except themselves yet, and get that confidence that them being alone, they will be just fine. Blessed be...........

Church can do it. Family can do it. People in school can do it. I personnaly say piss on everyone unless they are nice but im more of a loner lookin for just a b0ner.
