Use common sense.....
Ask yourself:
1. Is it safe for me...Horses hurt and kill people everyday. your safety comes first,,,, horses come and go, but we only have one of you.
2. Is it safe for my horse...... Good footing, a safe pen, solid equipment... Good horses are hard to find... Crippling one will not help your cause.
3. Can I cause my horse to understand?..... This is the big one.
Horses think like horses, not like people,,, And hundreds of people have found ways to market common sense training.
( most are better at making money, then teaching horse people)
A very small hand full are good at what they do.
First, Slow down, Training takes a lifetime....
Get your horses permission.... only offer what he can handle at any given moment....If you can only swing a rope from 50' away, so be it,,, tomorrow he might allow 30'.
Do not take away the option of him moving his feet...... Too many people try to restrict their horses..........
The best training items are found in the trash.........Platic bags, sticks, cans, aluminum foil,, all of these items can be used to work with and desenitise your horse....
Keep going until he relaxs............ That is the reward,,,
Learn to disengage hindquarters.... By doing this we can help our horse learn to relax.....
I suggest getting help............Green horses learn from experienced people,,,, green people learn from xperienced horses.
We can't give knowledge we don't have.. good luck.
Feel free to contact me.... I have trainer friends all over the country.

If you are out with a horse, people should not be swinging ropes or playing around. Come on......have you ever had a horse before? Of course the horse will jump and kick.....When you are training you need to pay attention to your riding and people should not be in the ring with you. Only your trainer. You are just making your horse more frightened and you are going to get hurt if it doesn't stop. You need to talk with someone who knows horses and can educated you on training skills. Good Luck.

My previous gelding would try this. I purely had 2 horses grew to become out jointly so i'd capture the different one and convey him in! Then HE grew to become into on my own! opposite psychology. Then he incredibly needed to return in. this may well be a tricky one. Are you driving him each and every time you capture him? i do no longer think of that is undesirable conduct discovered from the different horses yet extra so herd mentality. he's clearly linked to the different horses and would not want to be taken away and he's combating you on that. that is style of difficult to assist without understanding extra info. is this a sparkling concern? grew to become into he ordinary to capture formerly? have been any new horses further to the herd and this concern got here approximately? the place is he placed on the herd hierarchy? appropriate horse? backside horse? Does he have a sturdy chum interior the herd? Are you purely precious him once you capture him? Or is he getting treats and then working off (the place you're able to inadvertently be precious him for undesirable habit)?

Horses can sense fear, and they will use it to their advantage. You need to be as calm as possible! Make you body big, but your anxiety low. Let them know that you are in charge. Also, some horses, like people, are naturally jumpy. Try not throwing a rope around him. Try walking up slowly and sliding a lead around his neck. Don't tie it,just loop it. Unless scared, a horse who thinks he's caught will just give in. This method would make the process calmer. Just calm yourslef, deep breaths and all and you will see a major difference in your horse.

desensitization. do the same thing that scares him on the ground, you are off the horse of course. and just keep doing it until it doesn't bother him anymore. the more you are scared the more he is. he reacts to you also. if you are confident so will he be. if this is something you are not comfortable with doing seek the help of a trainer.
