The Colorado River is probably best known for carving out the Grand Canyon. It passes through parts of Colorado, Utah, and Arizona, and also forms Arizona's borders with Nevada and California. It also forms the border of Baja California and Sonora states in Mexico, and empties into the Gulf of California. A map is available in my reference.
