My girlfriend wants to get emanicipated from her parents. Her parents have basically shunned her for being my gf and are trying to make sure she has nothing to do with me. Also what is considered statutory rape?

Statutory rape is an adult 18+ having sexual relations with someone under age. Some states do have a limit like if you're 18 and your gf is 17 that's fine, but it really depends on where you live..

Emancipation is different state to state as well. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=emancipation+state+&ei=UTF-8&fr=ks-ques&x=wrt
There are some pages in the search but you have to look up with what state you're in.

Good luck hun!

Varies. 18, 21...even as low as 16, depending on state and/or country. In America, by and large, it is 18 or 21.

This is going to vary from state to state. You best hope here to getting the right legal advice is to seak out a lawyer who will handle the case. Get in touch with local pflag organization, HRC, or other gay related organization and they may be able to direct you to someone. Good luck

she must be able to support herself, have a roof over her head and have good reason to be considered an adult. Also being pregnant will automatically emancipate a girl
