The ideal teacher is one who cares about his job. My personal favorite teacher told everyone on the first day of school that he likes coming to work and explained why. He is intelligent and gets students interested in the subject he teaches. He is down to earth, helpful, and kind. A teacher has to be entertaining too. He uses games to help the students learn, but doesn't let things get out of control. He gives homework, but not too much. He only gives assignments that will actually help us. NO BUSY WORK! And if he isn't there one day, he doesn't leave book exercises that he won't correct. He leaves either a fun activity or gives us the class to enjoy ourselves.

Somebody who is caring and understands problems that are going on at home, also if they have a sense of humor almost all my teachers didn't even smile at jokes are when anything funny happened, all this is great but they should still be able to control the class. Lastly I think they should help students with there work one on one by looking at there grades and seeing where they need to improve. I have to say the only teacher that comes close to my favorite was my grammar teacher.

The ones who actually chalenged me. I'm out of school now but while there I was often farther along than many of my class mates where so the work wasn't very challenging to me. The teachers that I liked where the ones who took the time to realise that different students where at different levels and gave attention to them accordingly. Also those teachers who tried to make each student feel important to them, not just another mind passing through. And those that realized my life was extreamly busy and their class was not my only one and therefore only gave some homework and only when we needed more practice on the subject, not just delt out homework cuz they thought they had to.

because they make learning fun, they are a good teacher-they know what they are doing, and they take in to consideration the amount work we get from other classes...to me an ideal teacher can also be someine you can trust with advice and valuable life lessons...those teachers are hard to come by! ; )

The biggest 'must' is an enthusiasm for their subject. It also helps if they respect and trust you, and friendliness is a plus - I know a little about each of my favourite teachers, be it in terms of home life, favourite holiday destinations or taste in TV.

I like all my teachers, but still, they all posess different qualities. I would love to have a teacher that is funny and nice, a little strict, fairness counts, not byist or has any favorites, and yet still likes what she/he does.

Hey, I am not answering, but I appreciate those who do... I am a teacher and it's always good to know what students think, even if they're not specifically my kids. :)
