I know it's worth $300 but if there's any way to get it at a lower price . . . . anyone have any ideas?

Look, best thing to do is go to http://www.pricewatch.com

Enter the words "Macromedia Fireworks" in the space at the top of the screen and it will scan dozens of store prices --- I ran a query and saw it listed for $179 (not sure if it is the version you need). In any case, this website is what I sue for all software and hardware prices...good luck!
