I think it should because you're not even given the unborn child a chance at life. Yes I am a man, and if God made it possible, I would carry the child myself!

to poisoneva:

You are the true epitome of "Ignorance is bliss." Is that what that abortionist told you that its only a clump of cells? I hate to burst your bubble, but a heartbeat can be detected 2 weeks after conception! And if its only a clump of cells, where the hell did you come from? Just think, if your mother aborted you when she was pregnant with you, you wouldnt be here to make those 4 "smart" decisions!

Alright, poisoneva, I apologize for trashing your opinion. You have every right to feel that way. But as for me, my position stands, I just feel if a woman doesnt want a child, she shouldn't have sex. And if she has control of her body, she should have enough control to push a man away if she doesnt want to face the consequences of pregnancy.

No, because regardless of whether you think an abortion is moral or immoral, making it against the law does not help the situation. If abortion is illegal, the vast majority of woman that want abortions and can afford it will simply go somewhere else to get the procedure done. Woman that want an abortion but don't have money to get it done somewhere else, will probably turn to less safe means, such as doing it themselves, or having an unlicensed practitioner do it. Also, I don't believe that it is wise to base a law on a moral principle when there is not consensus on the principle. While I would venture to guess that a vast majority of the public would view murder to be immoral, I'm pretty sure the vast majority does not believe that an abortion is murder or otherwise immoral. When the vast majority of society does not believe in a law, it won't work. I'll stay away from the Constitutional arguments, which I think can effectively be argued on either side.

I am totally against abortion of a fetus because it is a human being; therefore, abortion is murder. To those who argue it isn't a person yet, I will say this: When the first woman gives birth to anything that is not a human then come back and we'll talk. A baby in the mother's womb during the beginning stages of life is much like an elderly person in the last stages of life needing constant assistance in a nursing home or hospital. Without support and physical care, they would not survive. However, making abortion illegal will not work. It is impossible to legislate morals and as long as we have immoral and amoral people sleeping around without the benefit of marriage and commitment, we will have unwanted pregnancies. And women will go to back alley butchers and have abortions if it is made illegal.

Yes, because abortion takes it into our hands to decide who should live or die. A living being is growing inside the woman's womb and should be given a chance at life. It is not for us to decide whether that child should be summarily killed and denied mortality. Are children sometimes inconvenient? Sure they are but that is the responsibility we accept when we engage in sexual relationships. Sex isn't just for self gratification or personal expressions of love for another being. It is also the means whereby new beings are brought into the world. That is why men and women marry, so that they can enjoy each others company and accept the responsibility of sharing their lives with some more little beings and give them the chance to grow up to responsible adulthood as well.
Abortion, like fornication and adultery, is selfish and debilitating to society, therefore qualifying for criminality.

Why would you trash 'poisoneva'? Simply because she does not agree with your position on abortion. You are small minded and rude, you posted a question and she answered it and for that you chastize her. What an a**hole you are. By the way, IT IS a womans choice to do what she wants with her body. Someone should beat some sense into your brainwashed little mind...you are pathetic!

Absolutely not. You have NO say in the matter. The contents of my uterus are nobodys f**king business but my own. And it's not murder, it is a convenient removal of a useless clump of cells that would have ruined my life and my body! **** you if you don't agree with my position, by the way, I'm a member of Mensa...are you? I doubt it.....idiot.
