I know you have to pay someone overtime for 40 hours a week or 8 hours a day. However i am having some trouble with a few employees hours and not sure what the "rules" are. I've been searching on-line for a website with information but i cannot find any!

Department of labor can help you... if you are doing payroll you should be up on all the rules.. you should also ( by law) have the written rules posted in an area where all employees can view it.. If you are going to continue to be responsible for the payroll of your compnay you should encourage and politely demand that you been given the proper traiing.. there are seminars and other resources available to hlep you.. Or for a fee .. you can hire a company like Paychex to handle that for you...
