Weel, depends on your pain tolerance. For me it didn't hurt that bad. Why not get them in both, it tends to look gawdy if you have to many earing in 1 ear rather than the other. For the healing process it does take longer probalby about 4-6 weeks also depending on how you heal. But no it doesn't hurt. If someone tells you it does I think they might just be trying to scare you! GOOD LUCK! :)

I agree with a few other people - depends on your pain tolerance. It didn't bother me so much getting it done as it did aftewards. it took awhile for mine to heal, even just the wind blowing against it at times would irritate it. On a scale of 1-10 and knowing that i have a pretty high tolerance for pain - i'd say the initial pierce was about a 3 - 3 1/2 and after wards it was closer to a six. The advice i can give you - if you talk on the phone a lot or a fair amount and use one ear more than the other one - get the opposite ear cartilage pierced. I am on the phone a lot for work and got my left ear done and that's the ear i use the phone on - not a great idea. Good luck - hope that helped some.

Healing time on any cartiladge piercing is 2 months - 1 year depending on your genetics, diet, general state of health, and how well you take care of it. Avoid talking on the phone with the ear you get pierced, change your pillowcase daily, and keep it clean.
On a scale of 1 to 10, it can range anywhere from a 2 to a 10 depending on your personal pain tolerence and what part of the cartalidge you are having pierced. I have pierced people who said it didn't hurt at all and some who have said it was the most painful thing ever, it varries. In all fairness no-one will be able to give you an accurate answer on this but you. I can tell you the majority of people will say it falls in the 5 to 9 range.

Get your left ear done, it's the most common, unless of course you wanna be different, but I did left. My mom pierced my ear a couple of months ago and it didn't hurt that bad, probably about a 2 or 3. I put ice on it for 5-10 min., and then she just poked it through, and she said it was really easy, but my friend got it done by a professional and she said it didn't hurt that bad either. The time is takes to heal varies, I haven't changed my earring yet and it's been a couple months. If you don't leave it in long enough it'll close pretty quickly. It can be sore any time from the day you got it pierced to a couple years. Mine still hurts if I bump it hard enough.

as long as you leave the pierced ear cartilage completely alone, about a 3.
if you get a head-to-head hug or try to sleep on it,it goes up to a 7 or an 8.road rash or labor pains being a 10.
of course, this will vary with the individual, as will the healing which takes about 4 to 6 weeks to heal completely.
hope this helps as the dangle of your choice will look smashing.

The actually piercing part didn't hurt too bad ... I'd say a 5 or so ... but the healing part hurt much more ... very tender and very sore ... it was hard to sleep and talk on the phone for about a week ... after that it took about 4-6 weeks to fully heal and feel good ... !
It's totally worth the pain .. go for it girl ... !
