It's your body and if that's what you want and you two are so close he should understand.

Tattoos are perminent...relationships aren't always. You guys may last forever, who knows, but don't ever feel forced into getting a particular tattoo, cause then it's stuck for good. You've been together for a while, and hopefully can talk to each other quite well, just tell him you want to be sure of the tattoo you want. Or maybe you want something that represents yourself, without other people being involved. Although he's an important part of your life, maybe you just want to do some soul searching and come up with a tattoo that respresents who you are, not who you're involved with. And it's okay to tell him that too.

Don't be a fool!!! You are too young to be getting some guys name affixed permanently to your body...lets just say it doesn't work out (because at least half of marriage fail...that doesn't include plain old bf/gf relationships) and you meet 'the' guy later on...how happy will he be to stare at some other guys name on your body? Its just stupid. He wants his name on you so he can show ownership of you and mark you permanently...who care what he wants, its your body and your life!!! You will soooooo regret this. And it isn't hot for a girl to get a tatoo, its trashy...honestly imagine yourself in a gorgeous wedding gown, fitting to perfection, everything about you is pristine that day EXCEPT that you have this ugly, inappropriate blob on your body. Its like agreeing to wear the same shirt...or even the same earrings everyday for the rest of your life...do you really want to do that? Watch charmed...they have tatoos, look at them when they put them in gorgeous clothes, its look ridiculous and they look like crap no matter what gown they are in!!! Get a ankle braclet or a necklace with his name on it, something you can change but is beautiful anyway...no matter what you get in your tatoo it ends up looking like a black stain on your skin eventually, even colored ones, they fade and then its like wearing the same old worn out shirt everyday. Besides you are 20 years old, can you honestly say what you will love when you are 40 right now? No, you absolutely can't. Its cool now but what happens in ten years when fads change and women having tatoos isn't cool anymore? They can't be removed (and don't buy that crap that they can) it looks like a horrible scar once its gone. My sister did this stuff when she was young, she regrets it soooo much now...she even did the guys name thing she gave her son the same name so it wouldn't be about a bf LOL...everyone still knows where it really came from though. Womens bodies and just their skin have been treasured as a thing of beauty, as works of art for centuries....thats sooooo much more than any tacky tatoo will ever be and if you were ever painted I bet the artist would leave it out!! LOL!

Tattoo's are cool and all but someones name, I wouldn't put someones name on my body unless it was my childs name. You just never know what will happen! Tattoos are permanent. I have some but I didn't get my first one until I was 29. I just wanted to be sure that's what I wanted to do. So just think really hard about it before you do it.

Tell him no.
Tattoos are personal, and you should not let anyone make you put their name on you. That is the same thing as saying I own this to the rest of the world. So unless you know for a fact, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you will be with him for the rest of your life, do NOT get his name on your body.

girl, a tattoo is a big deal, i got mine just after i turned 18. It needs to be of something that will NEVER change...i thought about getting my now ex's initials...i was planning on a whole life with him...but things change, even if you don't think they will...me in 1 million years never thought we would ever be apart...so if you were to get a tattoo of something symbolizing your past...get a picture don't worry about initials, you'll know he's incorporated with it

The only name or initials that could possibly be put in/on a tatoo is MOM....
You'll always have a Mother, but more than likely, won't have this b/f forever.
A tatoo is forever...so don't screw it up - he probably won't be around when you're 65.

Don't get a guys name for a tattoo or incorporated in a tattoo. If something should happen, you are no longer with him ... YOU'RE stuck with his name. Maybe get his first initial in the tattoo at best.

It's your body and the tattoo is permanent. If at all, I suggest just getting his initials. It is such a bad idea to get someones name tattooed on you....unless you have a crystal ball and can see that you will be together forever. Who knows what could happen?

I used to live next door to a tatto artist, and I worked in his studio for a while. He used to say that getting your boyfriend/girlfriend's name tattooed on you is the kiss of death for a relationship. Don't do it. Get him to help you pick the design of your tattoo, or better yet, get him to design it. That will always remind you of him, and would be something special. People will ask you about your tattoo everywhere you go. Would you rather it be, "Who's _________?" or "Wow, who did your ink? That's a great design."

It is your body and your life. He can not MAKE you get his name or even his initials. Tattoos are supposed to mean something to YOU, be special to YOU, represent who YOU are. Unless you are married to someone I would never advise getting their name put on you, unless of course it is your children.
