I am sorry about the details on the last question concerning this. I was mistaken when I said "I don't think so". But I do believe that Jesus died for an elect people as it says in Eph. 5:25, Rom. 8:31-35, Heb. 10:14, John 10, so on and so forth. And he does not love everyone as it says in Psalms 5:5 and in Rom. 9. And then you bring up John 3:16. Well, "world" is not always used in the literal sense like in John 12:19. And if Jesus died in the place of everyone, why does anyone go to hell? To this you will answer, "Because they chose not to repent." Is this not also a sin? If you say no then you are forced to say that the blood of christ is not enough and we have to cover that with our own merit. But you most likeley will believe this if you are a mormon or roman catholic. If you would like to discuss this topic more than email me at nathan_duffey and the the "dot yahoo" thingy.

Yes, Jesus died for everyone. That does not mean that everyone will accept His sacrifice. The fact that He died for everyone does not mean that everyone will be saved. Salvation is a matter of choice; I can choose to be saved, or I can choose not to be. Regardless of my choice, though, God offers salvation to me. Romans 8:32 says Jesus was "delivered...for us all." Also, God does love everyone, even those who refuse to love Him. I John 4:19: "We love Him, because He first loved us." Romans 5:8: "But God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Perhaps the verses that seem to say that God does not love everyone are simply misinterpreted. The Bible must be read and understood as a whole, and even though there are passages that seem to contradict each other, if they are examined in the light of the entire Bible they are much less confusing. You ask, "Why does anyone go to hell?" I think you answered your own question when you said, "Because they chose not to repent." We are not forced to repent. We can choose not to, but since we've all sinned (Romans 3:23), we all need repentance. So refusing to repent means we are refusing to let Jesus' blood cover our sins. I believe the Bible teaches that everyone is predestined to be saved; that is, salvation through Jesus is accessible to all humankind. The only way we can be lost is if we choose not to accept salvation. If God had His way we'd all be saved, but He has given us freedom of choice.

He died for everyone, we just have to make the right choices to get the blessings. He died for everyone because he gave everyone an opportunity to go to heaven if they make the choice by doing as he asks.

2 Peter 3:9 (English Standard Version)
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Hebrews 7:25 (English Standard Version)
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost[a] those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Jesus died for our sins. If you believe and go to church you could have faith then when you are about to die you would surely go to heaven.

I think you have an excellent, thought provoking question. But why do you keep asking it in this category?
Special Education refers to the education of students with disabilities as well as students who are gifted.
It has nothing to with your question and although I like your question, the teachers, parents, students and others who come to this forum have to wade through LOTS of non-revelant questions before we find questions that are actually one topic.
thanks for letting me get this off my chest.
