Get a No Cost Phone Number Scan at https://bitly.im/aL9Lq
Its a good way to start. The place lets you to do a no cost phone scan simply to find out if any telephone data is there. This basic alalysis is done without cost. For a full detailed report its a modest payment.
Here's Reverse / Whose Number Lookup page. If you're talking about cell phones, you usually have to pay for that. I've had pretty good luck just using Google a phone number to find out who's calling. If you are researching a quantity of numbers, though, I suppose, you might want a service. I can't imagine why the average person would need to research a quantity of numbers, though, so I assume this is business-related, and it then seems only fair that you pay for a service. But maybe it's not.

Well if you're asking is there a place you can look up numbers and match them to names, you won't be able to.
You can look up a name and find the corresponding number but not vice-versa. No phone company, landline or mobile, will let you do this: Data Protection and all that.

pretend to be some official person and say for example "hi this is so and so calling from such and such, for security purposes can u confirm your name and post code" lol. not sure if that's legal but it works like a charm because official calls confuse people. cut as soon as they say their name and never forget to conceal your number!!

ooh i hate it when i get a call from a number i dont know - dont think there is any way to search on the net for it. if you call it and they are savvy they will have switched their answerphone message to standard greeting and you will be none the wiser :(
