My answer is more long term. I think he is going to need to understand that if the relationship is going to move forward, he is going to have to take responsibilities in the house. This would involve cooking, cleaning, errands, and in the future child-care. He's going to have to take responsibilities. I would consider this "work".

If the guy is a bum, and you aren't friends and it's a new relationship, then I'd say you should leave....unless he has a good reason why he quit and has something else to go to.

If you are friends then I'd say be supportive as far as a friend would, but no need to save the world.

If you have a fairly established relationship, and the guy has a good reason why he quit and has some prospects that you feel good about him persuing, then you should stick by his side.

Depends on why he quit it and how long it takes him to get another.. Usually its a good idea to have another one lined up before you quit, but if he had good reason.. If he takes his sweet time looking for another, then I would wonder. Also if this is the first time he has been unemployed since you two got together, then I would at least give him a chance..

give him a week to get a job. if he doesnt have one after the time period that you gave him, then it isnt worth it. anyone can get a job in a week. unless he quit for reasons that were not good, like illegal not good. then it probably would be best for you to just get out of the relationship.

If you already told someone that you don't want them if they don't work and they quit their job...obviously you don't want to be with them! Listen- you don't need to lower your standards....why would you even WANT to be with someone with no job in the first place? Unless your man won the lottery or deals illegal substances theres NO REASON that you should be with him! What are his reasonings? To me unemployment= HUGE turn off!!! Obviously, we all hate to work...but if you quit your job you definitely need to have something lined up if your smart!

I guess it depends on why he quit his job. If he has no reason (like he's just lazy, etc.) then, NO don't be with him, because he'll probably be like that in other aspects of life. If he quit because he was tired of having the same job... he would probably be bad with commitments (leaving you when he tires of you).

Unless he is independently wealthy & sharing it with you - (work was just for fun) NO, get rid of him. You did not give much other detail as to what happened - but if he is that irrisponsible towards work, just think how he will be towards your relationship. And everyone knows how much work they are!!! Good Luck.

Nope. Tell him you'll reconsider when he gets a new one. Tell him you don't care where he works, as long as he works!

You just answered your own question. You said if he doesn't work you can't be with him, stick to your guns!
