Each fast foodie knows exactly how much money they make per inch of grill space or fryer capacity. They know what to cook to earn money, and what will loose money.

Some franchises do run breakfast all day by keeping a small grill and fryer set-up for it, but they also know that those square inches will loose money most of the day for the few sleepyheads that come in. Some other shops serve things that benefit from the lower grill and fryer temps, so can make that money back more easily, OR they found a higher cooking temp breakfst that does not need the different set-ups.

Never forget- fast foodies rarely care about YOU. You can order a big meal there every day for a year and they won't make enough money off you to care. They make their money feeding the masses- each and every choice on the menu is something a LOT of people like. They plan to sell totally out of each and every item fairly rapidly and you are only a tiny bit of the entire process.

Besides- with a little planning, you can make your own McMuffins at home cheaper, healthier, better tasting- and just about as fast as driving there and waiting for theirs!

The give you that as incentive to come in early, thus giving them more daily sales, all throughout the day. Most businesses are very slow in the morning and pick up around lunch. McDonald's has gotten past that. Although inconvenient for the customer, it's their marketing plan that works, apparently, as long as it's not being boycotted or anything of that nature, My guess is it will probably go on.

simple, if breakfast items were on the menu all day then mcdonalds would have to double their staff and their equipment. breakfast items such as egg cannot be cooked on the same grill as meat products due to cross contamination. this is why there is sometimes a delay in getting a burger at 10.30am, the grills have to be cleaned down. staff would not cope with a mixed menu all day they can hardly cope with seperate menus now come on think about it!

They'd do it if they thought it would be profitable but, obviously, they don't. I don't work nights or sleep in but sometimes I'd love a McMuffin for lunch or dinner... just as, sometimes, I want a hotdog or pizza for breakfast.

Face it, we're stuck with capitalism and the idea that nobody in business does anything unless they think it's profitable. They don't think that there's enough demand.

Mainly it has to do with the fact that lunch and breakfast are cook on/in the same ares...and you can't be cleaning things and changing temps back and forth all day or it would take forever to get food made. There are certain things that you can get all day like OJ and cinnamin rolls....I honesty don't see way some of it can't be like the hotcakes and burritos have nothing to do with the grill or fry vats.

I understand what you're saying. The breakfast here is over with at 10:30 a.m. Maybe you should rethink the sleeping in idea and revise it to staying up until 5:00 a.m. or whenever they open, and then go to bed?

I just heard a piece on the news tonight where they soon might be serving breakfast all day. Keep your fingers crossed. Also if they have a wed site emailing a request couldn't hurt.

Count your blessings, aside from the sausage mcgriddle their breakfast sucks. Go to waffle house, they have this cheesesteak omelet that is freaking awesome. On top of that, it should satisfy your apparent need for grease.

i used to work there and the breakfast items and lunch items cook at different temperatures. therefore, they can only cook one at a time. it is like that for most of the items, ex fries & hashbrowns, burgers & sausage patties

I think that is because not only is it not profitable, it is more expensive to buy breakfast food especially when they know that majority of the customers dont eat breakfast after 11am
