With pain and the spotting you should see your doctor. Since you have gestational diabetes you should call your doctor and let him check you. The baby could be pressing on nerves in your back or it could be the onset of labor....just call the doctor. Those of us you are hearing from are not doctors and we can not diagnose what is going on. Take care of yourself and your little one. God Bless.

Most babies become less active when delivery is soon to occur. Sounds like you are having braxton/hicks contractions but with spotting you should call the doctor report to the nurse what is happening and follow their instructions. They may have you come into the office and monitor your contractions and advise you from there. Complications that can occur during gestation are numerous and life threatening for you and your baby so don't ignore this. Call the office and tell them what is happening. If your baby is delivered today his chances are good since he is 37 weeks. No you can't get a c section on demand and its harder to recover for you and not great for baby, get an epidural it will make the pain go away at delivery until then if pains are so extreme you can be prescribed pain and sleep meds if you call the office, so call and report this.

You can tell if you're in labor if when you have the back pains your stomach becomes very taunt. The baby won't be very active. The pains or taunt belly have to be consistant i.e., 3 to 5 min. apart. The spotting could be your mucus plug coming out slowly or if it has already come out then the sack could be leaking. Sorry but unless you have a scheduled C-section with your doc, you won't be getting one more than likely. Only after you are hooked up to machines seeing if the baby is in any distress will it happen. Good luck, try to take it easy (I know everyone always says relax, but how do you do that when the huge lump in front of you is squeezing!?), try relaxing with a warm shower - no bath because the water does wash into your cervix/vagina area and you don't want to possibly get an infection. With my last child they stuck me into the shower and POW my labor became consistant and she was born not long after!

No the doctor will ask if your crazy...trust me. Just relax and take a warm bath...that will help with the pain. It will come soon enough. ps: when your in labor or having HARD contractions the baby is not usually active at all. Its sounds like the baby is comming soon anyways.

yes I think that is your option ,with my second son I had contractions my whole last month so bad and I was very lg.in tummy ,and my tummy would tighten up and awful pain in back and tummy .my honest oppion I would go to the er and be checked its still kinda of early for the baby ,you may be having what I did ,its false labor ,and yes it hurts the only relief I got was to set on pottie ,and my first child was natural and mess me up bad so they would not let me give birth to my second one he was much larger almost 10 lbs ,so I had a c-section ,if I had a choice both would have been natural because you tummy is awful after they cut into your muscles ,and they never fully come back and the healing was also worse it took much longer with c-section .so If you are in that much pain go to er and let them check to see if you are ready I went 5 times false labor with my second ,but hey I was in pain .wish you alot of luck ,take care hope you start to feel better soon ,lay on your back or side see if that helps any .my prayers are with yah .

My third child would kick everytime I had a contraction and break them up so I didn't realize how close together and long they were. If you are at all concerned about it, call your doctor and let them know. They may have you go into the office or go to the hospital just to get checked. Good luck with everything.

Ooh been there....
If you think you are in labor, starting timing your cramps, they could be early contractions. Or they could be Braxton Hicks contractions which is false labor. But if your cramps are coming faster and faster, you may be in labor. When in doubt, goto the hospital. They may send you home, but you will have a definitive answer.
Stay blessed!!!

spotting is one of the first signs of labor, but could still be days away.
You can ask to be induced, so you will start the labor process.
Its really up to your doctor.
Poor thing,,,I feel you!
Im pregnant with my 2nd child, by 7 weeks. yeah!

Most women have pink discharge about 24 hours before delivery. You should go and get checked, just to be safe!
