My husband and I are getting life insurance policies on each other. and they are wanting blood tests, to test for HIV. and when they do, from the blood test, is HIV all they can find. or can there something else be found? i know HIV is an STD, could there be other STDs be found. or do you all think HIV is the only thing being tested for through the blood test?

I believe that HIV is the only STD traceable through blood. THey will probably be looking at the health stauts over all.. your blood will tell them if you are healthy. The test will probably include heart risk indicators, diabetes indicators, and may also check for healthy kidney, liver, and thyroid functions. Basically, the company that is going to be covering you just wants to make sure that you arent in bad health so that they dont have to "pay out" for your death when you havent even been a client of theirs for long. They are just protecting their financial status.

Your question is not clear...but from a HIV test all you should be able to find out is your status. But some Insurance companies are crooked and once they get that vile no wondering what they will test for.
