Because copper sulfate is not an element, it's a compound. Only elements are found on the periodic table. (Hence, you would find copper and sulfur on the periodic table, but not copper sulfate, which is a compound of these two elements.)

Copper Suplhate is a compound substance CuSO4 meaning a compound of Copper, Sulpher and Oxygen. Periodic table is for elements only.

Only ELEMENTS are found on the Periodic Table. Copper sulfate is a compound (made up of more than one element).

Note: there are seven di atomic elements on the chart that naturally combine with themselves forming compounds. They are"

H2, N2, 02, F2, Cl2, Br2, I2

The point is, these are also compounds, even though they are of the same element (because these 7 elements have atoms which pair up to produce compounds). You'll learn about that later.

try looking for copper and sulphur on the periodic table since copper sulphate is the combination of the two.
