i knew there was a lawsuit, I didn't know what it was for. Good for them. It will get thrown out but still, a good start.

What lawyer came up with this idea? Considering that LA is basically composed of subdivisions connected by mile after mile of highway perhaps the city should also be named in the suit. Ok, fine sue the automakers but then you should also sue everyone who owns and operates a car. Should the automakers design more fuel efficient cars? Of course, but the blame is also shared by people who drive when they don't really need to and people who operate a vehicles that are much larger than they really need.

Whenever a lawsuit is filed, there never are any clear winners or losers. What will likely happen is that a settlement will be reached in which the automakers will agree to build more fuel efficient cars (or sell those cars for less money).

It's not for pollution or global warming. Those lawsuits might get shot down as they are a Federal problem. They are being sued for creating a public nuisance, which they probably will win.
