For over 100 years we have welcomed other Religions & Cultures,
who have added Colour and Variety to our life and Provided Culinery Delight's to our table. These people have become our friends, our caterer's and more importantly, members of our society, they have "Integrated" into The Scottish way of life and we appreciate this and respect them for it. So why are we asking? Why the Muslim society is constantly trying to undermine our way of life? Our society is based on the fact of free speech, what we may say, may be offensive to a muslim but not to a scotsman or a any other member of this island,
So why should we, as natives of this Isle be prosecuted for saying what we think? It's time this government started taking care of it's core natives and not a radical religeous offshoot that is intent in making us subserviant to there will.
We need to return to the old values of what immigration meant to incomers, A Sense of being British, Learning the Language and a total integration, thanks

Too right! I wish someone would do something about this. It's not fair. Those muslims have more freedom than we do, they can demonstrate against us in our own country, but if we dare to demonstrate against them, right here on our land, they'd probably knife us, or worse.

Well said! Although you'll probably get wrongly labelled as racist but anyone is these days who discusses this topic. All the Brits want is to live their lives the way they have for hundreds of years and not be told what to do so not to offend others who have come over here to settle. My husband travelled the world including Saudi Arabia which is a muslim country. The were certain rules you had to follow there like covering up in certain places etc etc and everyone visiting that country respected their way of life. Why can't we be RESPECTED? I will certainly NEVER be told what I should or shouldn't do and if these select group of people think they can achieve that, they have picked the wrong country to mess with. They are OFFENDING us and we should be put first not immigrants.

While I agree with your sentiments, I must say the place I hear most stuff about people being prosecuted for saying what they think is from the right wing press. Papers like The Daily Mail love to talk things like this up when in my opinion I don't think it is actually much of a problem. I can't actually site a single example of where this so called insane political correctness has affected my life or anyone else that I have experience first, second or even third hand. I have however read about it in the papers, who perhaps might just have a little bit of an agenda.

The bit I'm not so sure about is you phrase 'core natives'. How long do you have to live in this country before you become a core native? Many muslims will be second or even third generation now. Are they not to be considered core natives?

There is a huge amount of anti muslim sentiment around at the moment and the cause of this is the minority of extremists who choose to, at best shoot their mouths off, at worst, blow themselves and us up. These are the people we should be blaming, not all muslims, the majority of which just want to live here in peace. Don't forget that if Muslims here speak out too vocally against the extremists they may well end up in direct danger from attacks themselves.

You will probabaly find you know more muslims than you think, after all do you know the religion of everyone you know. My mates girlfiend is a muslim and for 4 years I never knew. Am I scared she is going to blow me up or do i think she should be deported? No. She has never made me feel like I can't speak my mind, although I wouldn't slag off Islam to her face in the same way I wouldn't tell my Catholic mates what I think about the Pope.

I have many Muslim friends. They are not integrated into the British society properly. We do welcome them and try to help them. But the minority think that they are entitled to do what they like. We have such a weak government, that some people are getting away with abusing society, because of political correctness. People who come to our country should not flout our laws. We could not go to another country and dictate what we wanted to do. We would be deported immediately. The law in our country should be fair to all equally. At the moment the laws on racial equality are biased against the white British people in our own country. This needs changing, because we are sometimes treated with abuse from other races and we are unable to complain about it.

It seems that whatever country Muslims settle they always try to take over and the same is happening here. Our weak politicians, who are afraid of losing their votes are allowing it to happen.
Islam seems to be a violent religion whereas most other religions,Christianity,Buddhism,Hinduism and the Sikh and Hebrew religions are based on peace and love of others people. Muslims like to say that Christianity is a violent religion but of course they have to go back hundreds of years to show this, when ,of course, the world was then a more violent and uncivilised place. The trouble is that while all other religions have moved on Islam has stayed in the middle ages.

Integration is important. If I emigrated to Iraq and started bad mouthing Islam, i'd soon get my head cut off with a maniac, and 15 minutes of fame on al jazeera. I wouldn't, couldn't say i've ever felt accepted by muslims in general in my OWN country. Muslims don't seem to like Christian Westerners, so I guess they are here for the money. Certainly not the banter!

This is a really good question , being asked by millions of the indiginous population , yes we have always existed in a friendly and generous way to all types of Religions , Living in relative harmony , but as we now see the emergence of stark Evil in the form of the Muslim Fanatics and their desire to "Take Over" Great Britain and many other countries throughout the world , Bombing and Murdering thousands in their Demented Attempts to establish an "Islamic State" world wide ,Infiltrating and establishing Training Camps to recruit and creat fundamantilst Fanatics to carry out their Evil Programmes . their Hypocrasy is beyond belief Preaching that their Religion is one of peace and goodwill to all of Mankind , at the same time preaching "Death to the Infidel" ,We have at the same time of the arrival of this Cancer , we find ourselves with a Government which is Betraying it,s own country with acts of Treason ,by the Enemy within our Country, of which there are many. Hypocrits who don,t give a Damn for our Values , Traditions and way of Life , their sickening duplicity is leading our country to the very brink of disaster. they are selling the whole country down the river at an alarming rate without compunction. They have set the scene with an "Open Borders" policy and non stop favouring of Immigrants , Legal or Illegal , and pushing the Indiginous population to one side , whilst our Hospitals , Education Centres , Social Services , are being flooded to bursting point by Immigrants . whilst the Slimeballs in Europe are Sniggering at what is happening to Great Britain , a Disaster Aided and Abetted by our own Government , who Value Nothing except their own self importance and feathering their own nests in short a bunch of Treacherous Bastards. ==thats why we are being "Pushed Around " by outside Influence.

I don't think we are. We have to accept immigration, it is an inevitable part of the development of countries. It has been happening for thousands of years. The immigrants do the jobs the locals don't or won't do. They are a valuable resource. Muslim or not, this is not relevant and it does not matter. We have to accept that the world is changing. We as rich Westerners visit poorer countries for holidays and they hear about the rich life over here. Of course they want to come here to improve their chances of survival. The rich countries in the West and in Europe ought to invest more money in the poorer nations.

1) Why are we, as Natives of this country being told, what we can do and what we can say, by a foreign religion ?

We are not.

2) Why the Muslim society is constantly trying to undermine our way of life?

Its not, the press and the govt tell you this because it suits the long term goals of their political masters.

3) Our society is based on the fact of free speech

Freedom of speech is not a right in the UK. You may not talk about defence secrets, you cannot insult someone publically using profanities, you cannot discuss criminal acts with intent to commit them, the list goes on. Being TOLD you have freedom of speech and actually having it are 2 different things.

4) So why should we, as natives of this Isle be prosecuted for saying what we think?

You cannot be prosecuted for what you think unless you vocalise it and it comes under a law designed to protect others from hatred or threats.

You use "we" a lot too, please don't tar everyone with your brush. I notice most right wingers use "we" on here assuming everyone is in agreement. Please use I, its your opinion if you haven't got the balls to stand up for it without pulling everyone else into it to make it look like you are some sort of spokesperson for the masses keep it to yourself.

The laws that apply to Muslims apply to everyone from Buddhists to Scottish Presbytarians, you are protected in the same way as everyone else. Stop reading the tabloid press and start thinking for yourself.

Despite the fact that us Brits trend to be relaxed and almost lazy when talking about religions other than our own CofS, CofE, RC, Methodist, Salvation Army etc etc (as was Pope Benedict - nice name, nice guy - recently, it appears!), the Buddhists, Aus Aborigines, Calvinists etc etc of this disagreeing world don't come and bomb us to bits. Not many come to scrounge from our welfare state first either.
Right on, highmmp!

Anyone not willing to sign an oath of allegiance (including all the native born Anglo Saxon and Celtic folk) should be deported to one of those warm, sandy countries where it's obviously preferable to be!
