If you don't know anything about computers, get HP. They come the way they want to build them and they work. If you know about PC's get a Dell and design it yourself and they will build it.

Personally I owned a Dell and I had a lot of problems with it, I now have an HP and am quite satisfied.

individually, i like a Dell. Hp's are no longer quite truthfully worth the money. they are made with affordable factors, then they bump up the fee. all people i've got be attentive to that has offered an HP regretted it. they have too many issues down the line.

yeah i would say dell as well, but since i would neither and build my own. ive never bough a branded pc in my life. and i've had a lot.

Both can run Windows or Linux. Neither can run Mac OS X.
Get a Mac, it can run all three.
