Who will be the PM after Tony Blair steps down?

How soon will a new PM be instated? Will there be any "lag-time" in between, and if so, who will be in charge during that period?

Gordon Brown the current chancellor will probably succeed Blair as leader of the labour party and thus P.M.

There will be a short period of anarchy between the two, during which I will rule not only the UK but also the rest of the known universe
