Yes.
To elaborate, there are so many examples of censorship in other countries that I can't imagine happenign in the US.
For example, the film "A Clockwork Ornage" was banned since the 70s in the UK until 2001! It was extremely hard to find, but here, in America - the film won the film of the year award in 1971 and was just rated R! It's funny how brits act like they're more free than us. Yeah right.

in some ways it is, in some its not. for example, if you want to rent a car in the states, its relatively easy. in other countries, you have to bring a utility bill to prove your address. can you imagine that? on top of that, they will check how many points you have on your licence, so if youre a bad driver, you cant even rent a car. in the states, any mofo can rent a car, regardless. another thing you can do freely in the states is rent a storage locker. again, in some countries, they will require you to show proof of address, such as a utility bill. opening a bank account in the states is fairly easy. all you need is 2 forms of id. in some countries, you have to go in there with a utlity bill in your name. so if youre renting a room, and dont have a utility bill in your name, youre screwed, and cant even open a bank account. in some countries, you cant even use the toilet freely. for example, in some countries, they lock the toilets of mcdonalds, and you have to be buzzed in.
now for the flip side
you dont have freedom because your media is biased. it only shows one side, usually the conservative side. all you hear about is how americans are heros in iraq, and never hear about the innocent people getting killed by americans. americans also lack freedom in terms of healthcare. only rich people have access to healthcare in the states. usa also practises the death penalty. women in the states have limited freedom because they cant have abortions. usa is not free in terms of speech. for example, you cant really say "i hate usa", without being ostracised. people will accuse you of being a terorist, and what not. its also not free in terms of religion because people almost always expect you to be christian in the states. if youre not christian, its like youre a freak. also, you have to pay for university in the states. if usa wasnt spending so much money on the military, people could actually go to university for free. think about that. one thing americans tend to do is try to hide things and pretend its not there. for example, prostitution. they outlaw prostitution so that its not seen. they take the prostitutes off the street by arresting them. eventhough prostitution cant be seen in the states, it still exists, but americans tend to think that if you dont see it, its not there. another thing is drugs. they arrest all the drug dealers and impose heavy penalties on drug users. the truth is, drugs are still there, its just not seen. again, americans think that the situation is somehow better because its invisible. but then again, even george bush uses cocaine.

*because* we care so much about people's RIGHTS..and that means, u can't "step" all over someone else's rights..which is what the bill of rights & constitution were made in the first place. we're not perfect, cuz we're Human...but we try. i feel pretty dang free, as long as i'm not hurting or harming anyone else!!!

To have freedoms, you must take away freedoms...it's probably as close as it gets.
