Sometimes when I am playing card's online my screen would freeze or I would just loose my card game screen,so I went from yahoo to MSN (just for my games @ pogo.com) and it helped me out. Good luck playing Chess...hope that helps!!

go to java.sun.com and download the latest java plug-in. That might help to fix or resolve the problem.

chess uses up virtual memory fast.do this;
FREEZING UP problem.you can increase your memory by..going to start button,settings, control panel,system, advance tab,performance,advance tab,virtual memory,change,make it 526kb or higher,click apply then ok. also doing this will help;
go to start button,settings,, control panel open internet options advance tab,scroll down to where it says JIT and uncheck it,click apply.ok
