Does it work for you? Is there anything I should know about it as I have started using it?

Yes, I used Avon's tanner this summer. It was ok. When I wear it my arms and legs shine in the sun. But it doesn't show my skin as smooth as I want it to look. And I hated the stains it left on my clothes and bag! I think next summer I'll try Sally Hansen's.

exfoliate your skin first then moisturize. Let that soak in ( so that you have a nice even base to apply it to) About a half hour later apply the tanning lotion.
The tanner sticks to dry skin and creates an uneven look. Take the extra steps, its worth it.

I've used L'Oreal for two years and I love it. It goes on easy and it always makes my skin glow. I get the lighter shade, since I am normally quite pale. It just give me a subtle golden color - not orange at all. As far as application goes, be sure to shave and exfoliate your body first, so it will go on smoothly, apply it lightly in rough areas like elbows and ankles, and wash your hands well when you are done (otherwise your hands will "tan".)! Good luck!

Exfoliate in the shower before you apply the self tanner. Try different drug store brands and find one you like. Neutrogena, and loreal are good.

if you just want a little color all the gradual tan stuff works good just wash your hands after. if you want a little deeper go for the nuetrogena spray can , lotion your hands , elbows, knees. use sparingly on your wrist area, spray it light, and one light mist on the tops of your hands. wait a min then wash hands and let your body dry . go to bed and wake up tan. if your face looks a little funny cause its dark it looks great after you put makeup on .but make sure you have a little darker color. STAY AWAY FROM MED/DARK TAN LOTIONS ONLY USE SPRAY MIST
