The answer is C

Think of it in reverse. Instead of thinking a leg is a part of a tripod, think of a tripod without the legs.

If you take away the legs of a tripod, what do you have? Nothing.

If you take away the words from a book, what do you have? Still have an empty book.

If you take away the stand from a dictionary, what do you have? A dictionary sitting on the floor.

If you take away the act or acts from a play, what do you have? Nothing.

If you take away the furniture from the store, what do you have? An empty store.

Answer C is the only one where, like the tripod comparison, if you remove the first item from the second item you aren't still left with a functional object.

(c) leg:tripod :: act:play

legs make up a tripod (3 legs anyways)
and acts make up a play.

think about the relationship the two words have to each other and try to find another set of words that have the same similarities.

A. Books have words, tripods have legs.

Not C because a play can have just one act.
