My baby has been on enfamil lipil with iron for about 3 weeks (she is 6wks old) and here lately she been spitting up a lot and is fussy because she has gas on her belly (she expells gas and it seems to bother and hurt her) I give her gas drops and they don't seem to help. I just started her on enfamil lipil gentleease today hoping that will help..anyone else had to do this and it seemed to work better? Or did you have to go to Soy-based??

Our doctor recommended soy formula when baby S was spitting up to beat the band--not reflux, he was happy and not fussy--but baby hated the soy formula and had the worst night of his little life after drinking it for one measly bottle, so that was the end of that. Some babies just spit up.

my daughter is 2 months old and we had the same problem with gas. We switched to the gentelease also, and it did make quite a bit of difference. Not as many bubbles form in the bottle as the other Enfamil Lipil. we go back and forth between the 2 and she seems to be a lot better. we hardly ever have to use the gas drops anymore.

she'll still be gassy, but its not built up as much. and remember too, some babies just tend to spit up more then others.

Some babies just spit up, as the previous answerer stated.

I've seen several studies lately that I wish I could find a link to, that state that soy formulas are started to be linked to early puberty in little girls. And I believe it because every girl I know who was on soy formula got their period at 8 or 9 years old.

I have been going through this also. Don't start the baby on the Gentle ease. I did with my son and he started throwing it up also. Start your daughter on Nestle Good Start. This stuff is great for a regular formula. If you go with soy go with an organic soy formula only. The other soy stuff is not good for your baby. Get yourself some colic tablets. These are great!

We did the same thing. Enfamil with iron, then Gentlease. We had to go to soy. It solved all our problems. I'm not sure what the milk-based does or why it messes with their little systems but my son will be 1 Fri. and we just switched him to whole milk and he has not had any problems..

My son was a big spit up baby, so my doctor advised me to try Enfamil AR (acid reflux). It was pre-thickened with rice cereal, so I believe the fact that it was thicker formula helped my son to keep it down a little better, although he still spit up until he was about 6-7 months old, when he began to sit up on his own.

Yes I have 3 baby girls and each one of them had to be switched to Similac ISOMIL. Once they were on that life was soooo much better. My youngest was such a bad spitter that I literally had to wash her carseat cover twice a week. It drove me mad and I begged the pediatrician to help me. She would just cry for hours because of the gas pain. I even had to bend her legs back and forth to ease the pain but when she got the isomil in her system she was fine. Just normal baby fussies and sooo much less spit up than before.

Yes, i had to change my son from enfamil with iron to lactofee formula. it worked great!!
you will see the difference after a couple of feedings. sometimes iron is too strong for their bellies. If she has colic then you will deal with the belly gas for awhile. good luck!!!

My daughter had the same problem when she was on Good Start. Her doc put her on the soy formula. Seems like its helped a lot.
