Because feeling is more primal than talking. It gets easier and better if you practice saying what you feel, but really words never quite convey feelings completely. Most people know that, so understanding people will listen in a different way when they are trying to understand another person's feelings. It is usually okay to use metaphors and analogies when you are trying to describe feelings if you know you are talking to someone who is making an effort to understand. People might say they feel "like my head would explode" or "in a rut" or "ready to burst" or "lost" or very many terms to describe feelings without being purely literal. But it's part of maturing and accepting your inner life- not to mention an important way to solidify relationships- if you can learn to talk about feelings.
Hope this helps.

Sometimes emotions run so deep we have trouble putting what we feel into words. Slow down, take a deep breath, think about what you feel, even run the whole situation back through your mind that brought the feelings on you need to express.
Good Luck

It's all emotions. You are letting your feelings get in the way of clear thinking and communication. Take a deep breath and then put those feelings aside and speak slowly

Since emotions speak more than words its very hard to express ourselves either when we are in pain or in joy.
Sometimes even when you are happy you could not speak and your tears will speak more about it.So i think this might be the reason.

Sometimes it is easier if you start by writing your feelings down on a daily basis in a journal. Once you are into the habit of expressing them to yourself on paper (or computer) it will become easier for you to express them to others.
As for why it is difficult, I don't think I can improve on Robert D's explanation.

Sometimes words aren't necessary. There are times when silence speaks louder than words. When your truely connected words won't always be necessary.

We are not used to it. if you want to start do it as if it were your friend and you are telling someone about it. After doing it a few times, you'll get the hang of it.

honestly it is because feelings have more depth than we have words to describe them.
