i need to know the role of a purchase ledger clerk

Make sure all paper work filled for purchases is correct and meets the company's control standards. Enter purchases into the general ledger accurately. Print out checks. Possibly some other duties related to accruals and deffered recognition of purchases.

Deals with the suppliers payments, checking that you have had delivered what you've been invoiced for, checking statements are correct etc - all in all you will be the person that the companies suppliers phone up when they want payment !
