The grade good is a very low grade and if that is actually the grade it would be worth only the silver value at the time it is sold. It contains .18084 oz. of pure silver. You can check a large city newspaper for the silver price for that day. The last price I have is for London Sept 7th at $13.08 oz. with means the quarter has $2.36 worth of silver in it. It would have to be in a mint state grade to be worth much more. In lower mint state grade the 1954 with no mint mark ( Philadelphia ) is worth more ( sells for $7.00) but in higher mint state like MS-65 the D mint mark is higher in price. ( sells for $50.00 ) take 40 to 50 % off as dealer mark up. Hope this helps.

It depends on what someone is willing to give you.
It is worth .25c in currency
It is worth ? in silver metal
it is worth ? in the amount of coins that were minted that year? (rarity)
Your idea of good, might be very good or fine
to a dealer.
Your idea of good, might also be poor to another dealer.
It's all supply and demand. You can go to 100 dealers and get 100 different quotes.
Since it's silver why not just keep it for 30-50 more years. It will be a real rarity then!
You can hand it down to a child or grandchild.
Shucks, it's only a quarter and my first sentence
is the answer.

First of all, one does not clean coins period. It will damage the coins and reduce their value. Vinegar is a mild acid and will eat the metal. Both coins seem to grade in the fine range but photo's or scans are not the same as actually looking at the coins. Neither coin is scarce, the cent sells for around .05 cents in a US coin dealers wheat cent box. The 1954-S quarter in the grade you have has little or no collector value at this time but does gave silver value. Right now around $7.25 dealers here in the states pay around $6.25-$6.50 right now but that may change due to what silver is worth on Monday when the market opens. Hope this helps
