How loose do your pants have to be. I'm kinda bloated from the pregnancy I haven't gained any weight but my pants are getting a little snug in the belly area. When are they too tight. I mean when I sit I can move them so they don't hit my belly but they aren't really tight I can just feel them and it kinda bothers me. Should I buy bigger pants already or deal with this. Thanks, and I'm only 5 weeks so I just found out.♥ First time pregnancy also♥

So I'm guessing this isn't going to hurt my baby?

Hi, I am at 10 weeks and last week I bought some jeans. I just felt like my pants were too tight around my waist and it just wasn't comfortable for me. You have to go with how you feel. I tried to deal one day, but ended up unbuttoning them a few hours later!!

My pants started to feel snug early in my pregnancy too. What I did was when I wore the jeans that I couldn't zip up, I took a hair tie or rubber band and put it through the button hole of my pants and hooked it onto my button. I just wore a long shirt over it. No one seemed to notice and when I showed my friend's how I was able to wear my old pants, they were amazed and said they should do the same thing even though they aren't pregnant! LOL

I also heard that some maternity clothing stores (i.e. Motherhood Maternity and Mimi Maternity) carry pant extenders. I haven't found any, but I did find bra extenders (which work great by the way). These are great tips for saving money before buying unnecessary maternity clothes. I'd say wait a little while longer to buy them because they may not fit later. You want to buy clothes that you can fit throughout your pregnancy.

My uniform during my 1st trimester (because my belly was so sensitive from my morning sickness -- it was really bad) was gaucho pants (I hated these pants, until I found out that they were the only comfortable thing I could wear) and a cotton t-shirt. I'm so glad we have no dress code at work! :)

Its highly likely that your feeling bloated at this stage and pants will fit again. I would suggest going by what you feel like wearing them that you choose when you want to change them. I was in maternity clothes by 11 weeks because I couldn't stand the pressure of anything across my stomach!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and the best of luck

Gaining weight has nothing to do with belly growth. I haven't gained one pound and have a huge belly.

If you really like the pants try looping a rubber and through the button hole and around the button. That may help you adjust and keep your wardrobe a little longer.

I would wait to splurge on the maternity clothing just yet. Trust me the temptation will be huge but just try to avoid it right now because you will change size and shape soon enough. I would suggest going to wal-mart and buying a pair one size larger so you can be comfortable until you are large enough to wear maternity clothing.

You could go the super-ghetto route with a rubberband. loop it through the buttonhole and over the button. Sis swore by this till she was 6 months pregnant.

there are maternity pants available, they are flexible in the front so theres room to get bigger there.
