Oscars will grow an inch a month if you feed them good high protein food and do your regular (weekly) partial (25-30%) water changes.

They are one of the fastest growing fish of the cichlid family, either South American or African.

Water changes are the single most important thing you can do to keep your fish healthy and happy.

They shuodl be close to full size after 12-14 months. Will fill out some more, maybe gain another inch or two over the second year, but not so much as you'd notice.

You mention multiple Oscars. I'm wondering how large of a tank you have. A single Oscar needs at least 55g, with mulitple Oscars needing at least 75g. The more O's, the more water you need to support them. They are very messy fish, and also territorial. Without a big enough tank, they will fight, likely injuring themselves and each other. And you will have much larger maintence problem dealing with all that waste in a smaller tank.

A 12" dragon, may be an extremely healthful 4 month old, or an undesirable a million 12 months old. adult males do have the bigger pores... They become approximately 18-20 inches. some improve rapid and attain finished length by 18 months. some are slower growers and don't attain finished length until 2 years or extra, so it extremely is perplexing to declare.

Mine where clost to 10" in the first year. You have to feed them good food, like frozen blood worms, beef heart(cut up into small pieces and then freeze left overs in ice cube trays), feeder fish(minnows, any baby fish), worms, crikets, bugs(any knid you can catch...)and pellets. I use trout pellets, since a 50lb bag costs $10 at your local feed store and they have growth enhancements in them.
