I'm probably guessing that the baby is just moving into the birthing position. Labor pains are very distinct, they are the ultimate cramping feeling. Like most people get when having their period. Start timing them if they are consistant, not within a minute or two, usually they are dead on, Anything shorter than 10 minutes apart i'd go to the hospital. Good Luck.

Well, it's probably just the baby's head pressing on the pelvic floor, but mention it to your doctor. I am 36 weeks pregnant with my second child and the baby's head's been engaged for about two weeks now. It can be 2-4 weeks after lightening and engagement before delivery.

Your pelvis is expanding, that´s what it is, you may still have a couple of weeks before labor, but by now you must be seeing your doc every week, so tell him about this, just to make sure that the baby is not changing positions, but nothing to worry about.
Good luck!

Shooting pains in the vagina is a normal thing. It's the baby pushing on your pelvic area. Yeah, it won't be long now till labor time

sounds like it. That is your body's way of adding a little pain down there to prepare for a huge baby to pass. I would talk to your doctor. He may want you to come in and get your cervix checked. The pain might also be you dilating. Congrats. Sound like baby will be coming soon.
