there are two types of blood in the human body, white and red blood corpuscles. white blood cells fight off diseases. red blood cells carry food to all parts of the body. saliva is a white blood cell.
When dirt gets filtered out through our noses by means of hairs in the nose, i guess (cause i'm no expert) that germs might still pass through and the body's white blood cells attack them. Mucous is formed when the body fights off the germs and kills it, mucous is the by product of dead germs and body fluid (probably white blood cells i'm not too sure).

The body produces mucus within the body. Its found in the stomach and intestines and within the nasal cavity to trap dust and dirt etc from entering into the body. It becomes a boogie when its combined with the air and foreign debris that enters the nose. Too much mucus is also a sign that the body is off balance or "diseased" hence colds etc

Boogers "happen" when your nasal mucus combines with dirt and debris you breathe during the day. Mucus (aka "snot") prevents the dirt from reaching your lungs. Without it, infections would be far more common.

So, long and disgusting story short, the mucus eventually dries around the dirt and debris and -- voilà! -- a beautiful new booger is formed. Consider this the ideal time to bust out the hankie, tissue, or sleeve, then blow.

Your nose is a filter to stop dirt and cold air rushing into your lungs, them boogies is dirt you breathed in mixed with mucas from the nose. Its a lot easier to pick your nose than your lungs. Keep on picking!!, keep them lungs clean
