The ones which stick in my mind are 'Chocky,' 'The Moondial,' 'Running Scared,' 'Dead Entry,' and a series about a boy in Kent who went swimming in a pond, and swallowed a toxic chemical called D22.

I only remember the moondial it was really scarey with those masks I must have been about 7 at the time.
It may not be a drama but I have a love of Teabag.
And of course Jonny Biggs
As well as Super Gran lol

If you want good Children's dramas, one of the best started in the Seventies, but was still running in the early Eighties.

That was "Little House on the Prarie". Starring Michael Landon, and Melissa Gilbert, among others, it really was a very sweet show, but they did tackle some very serious issues...

yes i remember "Running Scared" another one i loved was "The All Electric Amusement Arcade" where bella harper decides to make the arcade the best place in town.

Did'nt Running Scared use Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" as its theme?
