physical connections on the speaker. try switching them with another or a headphone.
check whether speakers r mute in system tray speaker.
if no try to check with the device drivers.

LIKELY THE WIRES AT THE BACK INTO THE SOUND CARD
1-UNPLUG ALL OF THEM
2-PLAY A CD OR MOVIE
3-OPEN THE SOUND CONTROL AND MAKE SURE ITS NOT MUTED
4-THE WIRE THAT COMES FROM THE SPEAKERS SHOULD GO INTO THE GREEN HOLE
5-IF THAT DOESNT WORK TRY THAT SAME WIRE IN ALL THE HOLES
6-IF THAT DOESNT WORK WE WILL HAVE TO MOVE ON TO INTERNAL WIRING OR DRIVERS

check the sound card if u know were it is or get an expert also check to make sure the speakers are in the right jack

go to the start button taskbar and look to the far right. There should be a icon of a loudpseaker or intercom type image. click on it and adjust your volume. hope this helps!

your problem could be that there is no connection between your cdrom and sound card.
Some cdrom drives require a wired connection from one to the other.
You may want to consult your sound card or cdrom drive manuals to know which wires you need and how it works.
