a capacity to grow,
respond to stimuli,
reproduce

You do not need 10 things, You only need one. A CELL...
When you have the cell, you have live... that thing is living...

I remember this from science class... They only gave 5 things though.
1: organism posesses higher level of thinking (such as knowing right from wrong)
2: organism reproduces
3: organism respires
4: organism consumes and makes waste
5: organism has some kind of water content
I don't think there are any acceptions to those rules... If there are though, I apologize in advance.

The abilities to do the following;
1. reproduce
2. excrete
3. digest
4. respond to environment
I'd have to think really hard to remember the rest. That is the scientific theory.
