My (geologist's) hammer, my bottle of hydrochloric acid (HCl), my Brunton compass, my scratch plate, my pick, my really big hammer for the bigger rocks, my hand lens, my half-worn-down-to-the-nub pen knife, my notebook, my aerial photos, my topographic maps, my (use of) the x-ray spectrometer, my (use of) the scanning electron microscope.......... ahhhh, oh and most important of all... use of my logical brain and powers of observation.
Note: no computer use while in the field.....
