I'm seeing Snow Patrol at the Wiltern in LA (a sold out show).....doors open at 7 p.m. concert starts at 8.....what time should i get there to get good seats?

HA! I went to Snow Patrol in Dublin last month and it was the same as you, sold out-general admission-no seats. The show wasnt due to start until 9 but the gates opened at 2pm!!! there were other bands but they were kind of the unknown wannabe sort. anyway we went at 2pm and it POURED rain all afternoon. There was nowhere to sit and no shelter so we just stood in the rain in a big muddy field for ten hours...I suppose the weather wont be like that in LA though. anyway just thought id tell you all that in case youre interested. to answer your question id say go as early as you can-maybe 3pm. we were amongst the first hundred or so in and we were allowed in to the sectioned off area up front. it was a brilliant concert-have a great time!

The Wiltern usually has an early turnout (as does everything else in L.A., but this particular place is worse because it's a fairly small venue too), so I'd figure on going even earlier than usual - the crowd will be fairly young (not as many middle-agers behaving politely), so the general-admission spaces will probably fill up rather quickly.

I'd shoot for you to get there between 5:30-6...
Fighting for a good spot sucks, but once the concert starts you should have a blast!

Definitely at least 1.5 hours before, more like two since it is general admission.
