a + b=180 a= angle supplement= 180-a
a + b = 90 a= angle complement= 90-a
180-a=3(90-a)-10
180-a= 270 -3a-10
2a= 80
a=40

If we use x as the angle we need, then the supplement of x is 180-x and the compliment is 90-x.

Using this information, write an equation from the sentence.
supplement is 10 less than 3 times the compliment:
(180-x) = 3(90-x)-10

Less than means to subtract but it goes at the end.
