Diversity is best. This month, the best is Norton, next week, it's AVG. It all depends on who is out in front on finding the problems.
But if everyone had the same Anti-virus, we'd all be caught off-guard.
Try AVG if you want one for free. http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1
I use and recommend Norton Anti-virus (not the Internet Security version)

NOD32, it's not the most widely used, but it's very low on resources and the virus definitions are great, if you want a free antivirus, use AVG.
(Happy NOD32 user for almost 2 years, and I've tried almost all the others.)
Also, DO NOT use Norton. It turns a gaming rig into a PIII.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

My choice is AVG. Not just a good protection but they also provide great support. If you have a problem they will pull out all the stops to help.
