If its smooth ceramic tiles scrape as much of as you can and then use a rag and normal nail polish remover or industrial acetone if you have a lot to remove.

These glues vary in what they are made from; you will probably find that the manufacturer of the glue has actually produced a solvent specifically for this use, if so then I'd advise you to use that: if the manufacturer has not made a solvent, then your best bet would be to make a clear note of exactly what the glue consists and take that to a chemist who will tell you which solvent to use, the point being that, if you use the wrong one you could mess up your tiles.

If it is ceramic tile try scraping with a single-sided razor blade. If it is any kind of vinyl ask at the store where you bought the carpet for their recommendations.

get a wallpaper scraper and get underneath the glue or work from the edges it does all come up but you need to be patient I'm afraid!!
