do you prefer girls who care too much about their looks and moan forever when they get their hair wet or break a nail and walk about in stilletoes all the time that are obviously killing their feet or down to earth girls,who still look good but are not obsessed with how they look and are happy to walk around in jeans and trainers(comfy clothes)??

I vote down to earth (even though my name here is spacedog...it's a Tori Amos song). Jeans and a t-shirt? Definitely! I believe the other type of girl you're referring to is called "high maintenance". There's a time and place to be dressy (weddings, etc) but casual dress looks great. Frumpy on the other hand, well.....like sweatpants and stained shirts. That looks trashy and reeks of no hygiene. Not only that, the jeans/t-shirt type girl shows a lot more confidence than a girl with a perfect manicure, high heels, and a boatload of makeup.

The unfortuante problem with men is most men are very Visual.
so if two women are side by side one being a girly feminine girl and the other being a down to earth girl, more often than not the'll choose the girly girl and will put up with the complaining. Most men like to have a "Show Piece" sad but true. But the important part is to be yourself but be flexible enough to take the good from each. Another words take the girly parts you like if any and incorporate those things in your life and then take the earthy stuff and add that, and that should bring out your true personality. The key is to be you. Having said all that you'll find later in life that when you meet that special man that you fall in love with? don't be surprised if you change your thought process to please him and vice versa. How you project yourself is what you will attract.

Unfortunately there is no "cut-and-dry" answer to this question. It all kind of depends on where a guy is at in his life. It also depends on if the "type" fits the girl. Example, Sandra Bullock will never be a girly girl. Thus the reason she married Jesse James from West Coast Chopper. Sarah Jessica Parker will never be a rough and tumble type.
There is something about a girl who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty that is incredibly sexy. I don't want to date a female construction worker, but it would be kinda hot if she could use a power tool.

I know i like girls that arent scared of being who they are! if you are girly girl, then fine. If you're a down to earth girl,great! Just as long as you arent fake! I like a girl that is girly to a certain extent... i want to know that i'm with a girl that looks like a girl, not just a girl that looks like a really girly guy! A girl that dresses casual and occasionally dresses up is good for any guy! But the whole thing about crying about a broken nail, that doesn't fly with to many guys!

I don't think you have a really good laugh with a really girly girl, they always seem to take themselves, and everything in general, too seriously. And humour , at the end of the day, is half the battle. Down to earth girls for me every time

A cute, down to earth "tom-boy" girl is ideal. She can do cool stuff like hiking, camping, playing sports yet also (seemingly by magic) be a girl as well. One minute she can be in jeans and the next in a dress. It is amazingly sexy to witness her transformation.

I tend to prefer women who are sort of in between -- down to earth most of the time, but also caring about how they look and interested in dressing up sometimes.
Comfy clothes are ok, but I want to be with someone who takes pride in her appearance and doesn't just say "whatever" in the mornings.
