well i can answer this since i live in glasgow.
well if your going from edinburgh, get the train from waverly or haymarket to glasgow central/glasgow central
takes about 45mins'ish
and then u can get a train from glasgow central/glasgow queen street., to preswick takes about 45mins aswell.

Take the train to Glasgow. You might have to switch stations before you take another train south to Prestwick. There is a stop right at the terminal.

by car m8 straight thru glasgow, onto m77 then follow signs,train edinburgh to glasgow queenstreet (transfer to glasgow central..short walk) then train direct to prestwick airport, the station is in the airport.
