I know Mayor Villagarosa said he wants 1 or 2 teams here in LA, and Schwartzenegger said he is vying for a team in LA also, but is there any concrete information yet? Any recent news on this. Do we know yet if a team is being moved and when? Bought? New team created? What the name will be? When? Please give details.

The NFL wants a team in LA in the worst way, but they want to make the right choice. They can't just throw a team in LA and assume that it will be a successful enterprise. If done correctly, putting an NFL team there would be a huge success.
I wouldn't look for the NFL to have an expansion for a number of years. The talent pool is watered down and they have expanded a lot over the past ten years.
So that leaves relocation. It was thought the Arizona Cardinals would be teh team most likely to move. But, they now have a new stadium and won't be moving.
It had been rumored that the San Diego Chargers wanted a new stadium but the city won't build one for them. Moving to LA makes sense as they wouldn't be too far removed from their current fan base, the team originated in Los Angeles and this would keep them in the AFC West.
I've also heard the Colts could move. The league m ust love the idea of Peyton Manning in a major market like LA. The IRsay family thought nothing of moving the team away from its original and very loyal fan base in Baltimore so moving out of Indi won't be that difficult.
There have been rumblings that the Raiders might move back to Los Angeles. I could see Al Davis doing that for two reasons: 1. Big money and 2. Sticking it to the league one more time. I'mnot sure but I tihnk Davis has claimed the Raiders still have rights the Los Angeles.
Minnesota is said to be unhappy with their stadium deal, but I beleive they have new ownership who is said to want to remain in Minnesota. Rumors over the last few years had them looking at San Antonio more than Los Angeles.
The Saints' owner would like to move, but the NFL is committed to keeping the Saints in New Orleans. The team is considered important to the hurricane ravaged city.
There were rumblings about the 49ers looking at Los Angeles. I would have to believe that if the Niners are looking at LA, it's more for leverage to get a new stadium from the city of San Francisco.

LA isnt worthy of a team, and the fans in LA could care less.....49ers arent going to LA, even if they dont get a new stadium there is a group headed by Steve Young, Brent Jones, and Larry ellison (ceo of oracle) who would build a privately owned stadium....the league would let them have first chance at 49ers and keep them in SF before they ever thought of moving to LA

I can't see why any team would want to go to LA. They had 2 teams and lost them both. Do you really think a lousy (or expansion) team, that loses most of its games would be supported in LA? Watch out for Politicians meddling in sports, keep your hand on your wallett.

New team won't be created for another couple of years.
Some rumors of a few teams being bought have been floating around, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
LA probably won't see a team for a while, but if a few teams don't improve soon, they may be packing their bags and heading your way.

I don't think any team wants to go to L.A. All the riots and trouble out there..L.A. is a troubled town...that's why the Ram's & Raiders are gone...it's just a fact!
My advise...learn to follow the Chargers or S.F.

Give a team to a city who actually deserves it. L.A. has had plenty of chances.
