the facade to others that you have more in life than you really do...for example....Saying that you make more money than you actually do .....and if you do this....Why do you feel the need to do this instead of being your true self ?....true to you and therefore true to others.

so far i am loving these answers ...thank you all , because I thought I was the only one out there comfortable with just being myself no matter what others might think....you guys would not believe how many fake people I have ran into in my 30 yrs . of living......and when I find out what is really going on with them ....and i always do ....they end up looking really stupid ...and I leave them alone ...because I don't like kickin' it wit fake, liars. You guys just don't know how much I feel all of you all out there keepin' it really real !!!!!!!!!

I also feel you too D.W....but your situation is kinda different...because if you keepin' it on the low as to not rub things in the faces of others I can respect that ....but I'm talking about those who know they are wearing Target...and try to act like they shop in Beverly Hills...u know...flossin' in all of the areas of their life.Its not cute ...its really stupid !

Nope. I am what I am. And that's all that I am. Kinda like Popeye the Sailor Man. I don't feel the need to try to pretend to be something I'm not. I also don't have the energy to keep up that kind of a pretense.
I tend to believe that anybody who has to, has little or no self-confidence. I think they feel that if they make others believe they are "all that", they will become so. That ain't how it works, though.

Quite the opposite. I don't like to tell people what I do for a living, where I live, etc. I fear that it will come off as bragging or something. I like to keep a low profile.

I dont' care about money, so I'm honest. I'm proud of the fact that I manage money well and even though I don't make as much money as my friends I don't have as much debt, and I travel way more than they do.
